Engels Logistics successfully passed an unannounced audit from the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain, in short FASFC.A European legislation restricts the amount of chemicals that are allowed to migrate from plastic materials when in contact with edible content. Moreover, it obliges every operator to maintain complete traceability of the plastic material and to apply good manufacturing practices.

As a result a so called Declaration Of Conformity (DOC) must be available with every delivery. Within the Engels Group this DOC is available from the Engels website. Moreover our customers are informed from the moment they receive an quotation whether the proposed product is food approved or not.The FASFC is executing extensive and unannounced controls at all distributors, thereby following an elaborated checklist.

This checklist looks into the above mentioned DOC and traceability but it is not limited to the paperwork. It includes inspection of the sanitary facilities and the warehouse, looking at all aspects like, amongst others, neatness and pest control. We are proud to announce that no single non-conformity was detected.
