Return and recycling of damaged goods

Damaged products or products with an electronic defect. These products are often returned or left on the shelves. It would be wasteful to throw away these goods. That is why more and more companies are setting up a logistics process to repair or recycle these damaged products.

Engels' strong plastic containers, often with an interior, lend themselves extremely for return logistics. The strong outer box can be stacked easily and stably, the interior fixes and protects the fragile contents and prevents further damage.

In addition to the obligation to take back electronic products, it is also cost-effective and environmentally friendly for shops and companies to take back and repair the products.

Collect and repair logistics

Mobile plastic transport cabinets for consumer electronics

Zes Goes B.V. is a service organization that takes care of the entire logistics as well as the repair works of the consumer electronics. Affiliated shops and companies collect the consumer electronics to be repaired in the plastic transport cabinets.

The filled transport cabinets are collected twice a week in fixed routes and exchanged for cupboards with the repaired consumer electronics from previous pick-up.

Since the contents of the transport cabinets represent a certain value, the transport cabinetsre must meet high requirements, such as:

  • be extremely robust
  • have several shelves for an optimal degree of filling
  • be sealable
  • equipped with smooth-running wheels

With this package of requirements in mind, Engels built the custom-made transport cabinets entirely in-house, based on 3 pallet boxes welded together. On one side, the side walls have been removed and repplaced with two lockable doors. The return cabinets are then equiped with adjustable shelves. The top of the cabinets is fitted with a fixed lid.

Because the return transport cabinets are made entirely of plastic, with a minimum of metal parts, the RFID signal and the scan accuracy are not disturbed.

RMA transport containers to Moxx Mobility BV (KPN) for the direct and damage-free exchange of defective barcode scanners.

Due to the intensive use of bar code scanners by parcel services, the possibility of a breakage is very high. Engels supplies RMA transport containers to Moxx Mobility BV for the direct and damage-free exchange of defective bar code scanners.

Moxx Mobiltiy offers mobile device services and ensures the best mobility solution. Defective bar code scanners can be exchanged immediately and damage-free through RMA transport containers at parcel services.

The plastic cases have a lockable lid and a custom-made foam interior so that the bar code scanners can be shipped stably and shock-free. The label carriers on the lid provide space for information stickers for the RMA, which can then be easily removed.

Lightweight Transport Packaging for TV and multimedia

Vanden Borre is a leading company in the sale of audio, TV, multimedia and household electronics. They offer various services, including a repair service for televisions. If a repair at home is not possible, Vanden Borre will collect the screen for repair in its own repair center and place a temporary television at the customer.

The wooden transport boxes they used for this were impractical and very heavy. In order to relieve the employees as much as possible, Vanden Borre went in search of new reusable transport packaging.

Handling must be as pleasant as possible for Vanden Borre employees. The weight of the packaging plays an important role in this. This makes it logical to choose a flight case with the light sheet material Aircell.

The reusable flight case from Engels fits in perfectly with this and more

In addition to weight, user comfort is also important. To be able to get the flight case in and out of the van properly, it is equipped with 2 fixed and 2 swivel wheels. By means of the handles on both ends, the light flight case can be steered and lifted with one hand. Once at its destination, the front panel can be completely removed after opening the 4 locks. The TV screen can then be easily placed in or out of the flight case.

Can be used for different screen sizes

Thanks to the one-size-fits-all principle, the flight case can be used for televisions from 32 inches to 65 inches. The tactically placed tension straps are adjustable, so that they always fit around the television, regardless of its size.

Good protection against shocks and bumps

The thin screens are very sensitive to damage. To protect this, the inside of the flight case is equipped with a foam interior and tension straps. This way, the screen stays in place during transport and is protected against shocks from, for example, thresholds. In addition, Engels has supplied tailor-made textile covers. These are slid over the screens before they are placed in the flight case.

Solid packaging, also for transport by an external carrier

By using durable materials and components, both the packaging and the contents can take a beating. This way, the transport is in good hands, regardless of whether Vanden Borre or an external carrier transports the TV screen.

If the packaging has reached the end of its life and repair is not possible, then both the aluminum parts and the plastic panels can be completely recycled into a new product. This makes the reusable flight case a sustainable choice.
